The Black Birch Vineyard boutique winery is found in the heart of Pioneer Valley in the rich farmland of Massachusetts. Hatfield Historical Society
The Hatfield Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to covering all of Hatfield’s historic past. It operates two museums: the Hatfield Farm Museum and the Hatfield Historical Museum. Both of these feature artifacts and exhibits that showcase the history of Hatfield, Massachusetts, and detail what life was once like in the area. The Hatfield Historical Museum is found on the second floor of Dickinson Memorial Hall and is open from April to October each year. The Hatfield Farm Museum is open Saturdays, from Memorial Day through Columbus Day and also by appointment on other days of the week.
Things to do in Northampton
The city of Northampton was founded in 1653. It was the site of a major Christian revival in 1734 and was also the location of the historical uprising, Shays’ Rebellion. Heralded as “Paradise City” by famous opera singer Jenny Lind in 1851, Northampton is still known by that nickname today. It is the county seat of Hampshire County and is known as a hub for academics, art, and music.
Smith College Museum of Art
The Smith College Museum of Art features over 27,000 pieces of art and is dedicated to education, diversity, and artistic expression. The Botanic Garden of Smith College
The Botanic Garden of Smith College offers 127 acres of beautiful gardens, galleries, and arboretums. Founded in 1895 by the college’s first president, the Smith College Botanic Gardens have served as a way to educate, beautify, and serve those who come here. Dedicated to diversity and inclusion, the gardens teach both students and visitors how to develop a love for nature and academic success. Smith College Botanic Garden cost is free, and the gardens are open year-round from 9am-4pm.
Thornes Marketplace
Northampton, MA shopping is always a fun experience when you visit Thornes Marketplace. With three floors of shopping and dining options, Thornes has something for everyone. Situated in downtown Northampton, this beautiful building features stained glass windows, grand staircases, and tin ceilings. Norwottuck Rail Trail
Walk, bike, jog, or rollerblade along the Norwottuck Rail Trail. This 11-mile paved trail was once part of the Boston & Maine Railroad and provides a picturesque location for a ride or a stroll. Free parking for the trail is found at three different locations along the route, with a picnic area and restrooms also available. The trail is open from dawn to dusk, and dogs are allowed on leash.
